Departments

Staff Development Institute harnesses its expertise through six independent but inextricably collaborative departments.

Each department has specialised members of staff who hold professional expertise in the area. But understanding that teamwork is central to corporate success, the multi-skilling practice is utilized. As such, faculty staff of different departments usually work together in running programmes.

In our quest to make our programmes relevant to our learners' world of work, we also have a pool of adjunct faculty members we draw from. These are practitioners in various professional fields. For instance, some Justices of the High Court and the Supreme Court of Appeal facilitate on some of our programmes. Some University of Malawi lecturers and senior officers in the Malawi Public Service and other Government institutions also contribute to some of our programmes.
